The criteria for sustainable design measures were based on the TCHC's needs, life cycle costs, benefits, risk profile, and public acceptance. The targets included: 35% reduction in per capita water use; 75% energy use reduction; 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The waste management system provided the opportunity to improved waste diversion, a potential increase of 20%. LEED Gold certification.
