Canstruction 2026

CORE was proud to participate in this year’s Canstruction 2026, a unique canned sculpture competition and food-raiser in support of Daily Bread Food Bank.

This year’s installation, “Honk If You Give a Flock: Giving Hunger the Bird,” features “Goose-tavo,” a 7-foot-tall Canada goose construction worker built entirely from canned food. Complete with his own lunchbox and a cantilevered beak stretching over 2.5 feet long, Goose-tavo brought together by creativity and collaboration.

Through the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, CORE donated 2,352 cans, equal to 1,675 pounds of food, helping support individuals and families across Toronto facing food insecurity.

Collectively, the 2026 Canstruction event generated more than 81,600 cans of food for the Daily Bread Food Bank, demonstrating the impact that creative, community-driven initiatives can have across the city.

Goose-tavo is currently on display at TD North Tower (77 King St W) alongside the other Canstruction entries through Friday 15 May 2026. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and explore the installations.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this year’s installation to life, and to our sponsors for their continued support Times Group, DOM International, Peter McCann Architectural Models Inc., Urban Capital Property Group, Sakora Design, Metro Wall Coverings, and Metro College Park.
