Celebrating International LEGO Day 2026
To celebrate International LEGO Day, our studio returned to the basics of design: imagination and collaboration.
We hosted an internal LEGO architecture competition, where teams were challenged to design and build an architectural concept entirely out of LEGO bricks. The brief was open, encouraging teams to explore form, structure, and storytelling without constraints.
The results were impressive. From bold structural ideas, including cities, pools and cantilevers, to thoughtful details like Japanese cherry blossom trees, each team brought a unique perspective to their build. The exercise highlighted the value of teamwork, experimentation, and collaboration, even at a small scale.
After much discussion, the winning team was selected based on design clarity, creativity, and overall architectural expression. Congratulations to the winners Chris Watkins, Martina Graham-Harvey and Shalana Haslip, for their outstanding concept and execution, while the people’s choice award went to Partner Lili Vu-Campbell, Amr El-Bahrawy and Derek Cariglia. Thank you to everyone who participated for making the competition such a success.
LEGO Day is a reminder that great design often starts with curiosity and play. Whether working with bricks or buildings, the principles remain the same: think boldly, collaborate openly, and enjoy the process.
