The Regent Park Revitalization Project is a massive, 69-acre redevelopment of land in east downtown Toronto. One Park West condominium represents phase two of this 15 phase redevelopment
LEED Gold Standard
The objective was to transform the 30-year old public housing project into one of the best mixed-income communities in the city. It is envisioned to be a vibrant, attractive, and healthy neighbourhood. The vision is one of diversity as well as sustainability. One Park West condominium, which borders the park, is to be designed and constructed to meet LEED Gold Standard.
Environmentally responsible building
The challenge was to design an environmentally responsible building that remains affordable to residents. A “green” roof, gray water system, and thermally-broken balconies are just some of the energy-saving features that are included. Through value engineering practices, CORE increased the solids ratio to 40 percent without compromising the design through careful material selection. CORE also worked with the city to develop larger amenities areas as requested, without compromising the design or budget.
